The Silverjuke core is now available under the GPL licence. Upcoming Linux distributions may contain Silverjuke in their repositories therefore - e.g we know that Debian or Ubuntu will contain Silverjuke 14.4 in their next release.
The Silverjuke core source code, which will build on most Linux version using the standard tools, is already available at https://github.com/r10s/silverjuke
The GPL'd Silverjuke source core may be used for private or commercial purposes for free - in any meaning - without any restrictions.
Will there also be a new Windows Version? And will the Windows version be OpenSource, too? Yes, there will be a Windows version. No, it won't be OpenSource as Windows requires some unfree components. The Windows version will be sold on silverjuke.net as usual.
Will there be a new Mac version? EDIT: We're just working on a new Mac version.
What are the features of the new Version? To be more future-proof, we've done a bit source code cleanup, however, most features are the same as the old 2.x Versions, skins will work as usual and we've fixed many bugs. For several reasons, we've dropped scripting support, it is not clear if this comes to Silverjuke again in this form.
You will find more information about all this stuff on silverjuke.net soon.
So far, best regards - and stay curious -,
