Bin da ja ganz Deiner Meinung, allerdings wird da auf einige Programmierer einiges an Arbeit zukommen. Die wenigsten Programmentwickler (gerade im Freewarebereich) waren so schlau wie unsere Silverjuke-Jungs und haben in ihre Programme eine Möglichkeit der freien Auswahl der Datenbankadresse eingebaut. Ich habe Einiges an Tagging- und CD-Ripping-Programmen auf meinem Rechner installiert, keines bietet diese Möglichkeit. Alle sind fix auf freedb.org eingestellt.
Daher hier mal wieder ein dickes Lob an die Entwickler von Silverjuke für Ihre Weitsicht 8-) !
Bleibt also in Hinblick auf andere Programme nur die Hoffnung, daß, sollten die FreeDB´ler wirklich die Adresse verkaufen, diese in die richtigen Hände gerät und für den angedachten Zweck erhalten bleibt...

Ansonsten würde ich mal abwarten, ich kann mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen, daß ein so verbreitetes Projekt nicht - zumindestens so wie es ist - irgendwie weiterbetrieben wird :-?

"freedb.berlios.de" (ohne die Anführungsstriche) ein.
Hoffentlich funktioniert das noch ´ne Weile bis ´ne Alternative gefunden wird. Allerdings dürfte diese Datenbank ohne freedb.org wohl nicht mehr aktualisiert werden...

Nachdem ich gerade verzweifelt versucht habe, einige Neuerwerbungen über freeDB zu taggen und dabei rein gar Nichts lief, habe ich www.freedb.org mal direkt über den Browser aufgerufen. So wie es aussieht, haben sich die Verantwortlichen dort zerstritten und bieten gar die Webadresse zum Verkauf an!
Tragisch, tragisch, da ja die meisten Tagging-Programme für das automatische mp3-Tagging auf FreeDB zugreifen (so auch Silverjuke).
Wer kennt Alternativserver, die man in Silverjuke nutzen kann und die FreeDB ersetzen können?
