It works in windowed mode, even in maximised window (is there a way to start in maximised window?) - almost fullscreen but the title bars from ubuntu and silverjuke keeps visible.
But as soon as I start the kiosk mode - nothing! And I have both checkboxes enabled, even tried different settings (always foreground ...) but I couldn't get it working.
What might be the difference to your ubuntu? Mh, I am running Mate 16.04. But as in windowed mode the keyboard becomes visible - why not in kiosk mode?

And I think it is only in the "repo" version. I don't have the problem with the newest version. I have both.) I can replicate your problem with the one from the repo, the newest version works as it should.

You will have to compile the new version from source yourself though.

Found this settings and used it.
While I am in the setting tab it works. So tap into text-field and virtual keyboard pops up.

But (although both check marks) in kiosk mode itself - nothing happened!

two things come into my mind:

- Might it be that it is checking whether there is a real keyboard available and doesn't show the virtual?
I have no idea what might be the reason.

- Use the version from the Ubuntu16.04 repos. Is this one buggy?

Note that you have two of them...the top one is for kiosk mode only. The other is for non-kiosk mode. Both have to be checked to use it "throughout" silverjuke.

Is there a way to show a virtual keyboard when touching into the search-field?
That would be great help for me.
