Heya SilverEagle - in PSP you can maybe click on the transparent region then magic wand select it (I'm sure there is an equiv in photoshop but never tried it) then use some or other color swap function to do it. Never tried tho - usually trying to get TO transparency ^^. GL tho would be interesting ...

You need one which work on a binary level. Since these days we got way more files other than media it's a worthwhile piece of software to get anyway...
