When this module is installed, you can play "Speex" encoded audio files (*.spx) with Silverjuke.
What is Speex? A litte excerpt from http://www.speex.org ...

Re: Speex
This module is no longer needed for Silverjuke 3.x and newer version. Silverjuke 3.x support this codec directly.
