Skin Contest '09 - Overview

Yeah, it is finished again! We've got all the contributions and have presented them here in the forum. Every single skin in its own thread.

First, here, at this place, the Silverjuke-Team wants to say "Thank you to all skin authors!" You've all done a great job! There are not so many skins as in the last year, however, here they come:

And please remember: All the skin authors have spent hours and hours creating their skins and will be glad to get some feedback in their thread of their skin now! Comments are always welcome!

And finally: If you've found "your" skin of the year 2009:

Hi Team,

Not many skins maybe, but looking good! No idea yet how they behave, but their screenshots look promising...

One tiny remark: the download link for the jazz mini and the titan yellow skin in the english forum say black mamba (files themselves are OK though).

And one request: Would you translate the entry text for the skins to English like you did last year? I know it's a German-only party this year, but I think the skins certainly deserve global exposure

Yesterday, there was no time left for any translations, but we will translate the descriptions today (to the something like english )

Hi All,

Idea for a future contest: allow three votes for first/second/third place. It's just too hard to pick a single winner...

For now, as I do only get one official vote and have two winners I'll be stubborn and just post my theoretical voting here:

First place shared by : Jazz and TitanYellow

Choosing between them is just impossible, they are extremely different. I posted in each of their treads my thoughts on them, and I can name each of them number one depending on how I score their accomplishments.

It all boils down to how important the theme is. Without a theme TitanYellow is my favorite. For me a contest is not about usability, but most importantly it should be a playground and showcase for new ideas. And while Jazz is certainly not your average skin, TitanYellow thinks quite some distance outside the box. But on the other hand Jazz is my total winner for the "Black and White" theme, implementing the theme on three different levels.

So there you have it. One contest, two criteria. Two winners.

I'll better find a coin somewhere.
