Hello all.
First off I have to say that I love the program. It's everything that I've been looking for - except that it doesn't normalize tracks unless.....
...the "automatic volume" feature is the same as normalizing?
Does it work well?
Automatic volume - Normalizing???

We think so
If the automatic volume is enabled at "Settings / Playback / Automatic volume" it calculates the normalized volume level on the first playback of a song. Therefore, during the first playback there may be slightly volume changes made by Silverjuke.
After the first playback, Silverjuke writes the calculated, normalized volume to its database for future use; you'll finde some more details in the , and, if there are questions left, you're welcome to post them here.

Re: Automatic volume - Normalizing???
I think the automatic volume control works very well, but i have one question though..
Is it possible to select all tracks and have silverjuke normalize them, instead of playing songs one by one, before silverjuke memorizes them..
Fx. If i am having a party, and one of my guest plays a number, i haven't played within Silverjuke before, and the volume turns down, could be a litlle annoying..
Anyway your program is still the best player available in my opinion.. Keep up the good work..

Of course you can select all songs with CTRL-A, drag them to the display, hit play and come back the next day - or the next month... However, I think you prefer something "faster then realtime"
We've added this point to our TODO-/TOCHECK list.

Re: Automatic volume - Normalizing???
Once a track is played and the volume "adjusted", is that data saved to a log file?
If I re-install Silverjuke after formatting my hard drive, I'd like to be able to back up that information.

The data are saved to the Silverjuke database at c:/documents and settings/<your name>/application data/silverjuke/mymusic.db. If you reinstall Silverjuke eg. after a harddisk failure, you can reuse the file on the new harddisk if you make sure, you use the same source directories than before.

Would it be possible to move the database to the same directory that Silverjuke is in?
I know its a lot to ask, but when I transfer my setup (with 300 albums or so) to the jukebox I plan to build for my recroom, I don't want to have to re-select all of the album covers manually, and replay the tracks so that they are all normalized again.
Yes, I know that if the setup is the same (same location for the audio files and album covers) it should still work, but wouldn't it just make it that much simpler to move the working .db file to the Silverjuke directory???
Thanks in advance.

Re: Automatic volume - Normalizing???
So far so good, I have Silverjuke running on a external hard drive.
The files mymusic.db and mysettings.ini are in G:\Silverjuke.
When I refresh using F5, I get the following error message:
"can't open file 'G:\Silverjuke\mymusic.db-journal' (error 32: the process cannnot access the file because it is being used by another process.)
The error message really doesn't seem to mean anything as it always refreshes correctly.
