Hi,
I have two questions:
1) Is it possible to clear previous playlist when double-clicking any album?
2) When in "cover mode", it is possible to play album when double-clicking its cover (currently, it comes back in Albums mode)?

Maybe the option "Playback / Play tracks now on double click" in the context menu comes close to what you expect.

No. But you can enqueue the tracks directly by pressing eg. CTRL+E
