I know this problem has come up before. I searched this forum and found a fix (copy bass_aac.dll to Silverjuke folder) but it won't work for me. I did a complete removal and re-install of Silverjuke but no luck. Running Windows 10. I did have a locker virus issue, but got rid of all traces of it, don't think it should be an issue, but who knows?
Don't know what else to try. Any ideas?
Thanks
George A.

First of all, in "normal" cases, "normal" windows installations, these issues should not pop up at all.
Which file type (extension) does not work? Maybe you use a container that is really not supported.
The "trick" mentioned here - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4221 - only helps on MP3 files; normally with playback error #44.

Thanks for your reply. I came back here because I realized I hadn't stated which file format was the problem. It's m4a files.

Re: Playback error 41 (unsupported file format)
Well, m4a files may not be playable for various reasons, eg. unsupported codecs or copy protection.
If in doubt, you can send us the suspicious file(s) (see http://www.silverjuke.net/en/contact )

Re: Playback error 41 (unsupported file format)
Thank you for your timely response. I think I have found the problem. I loaded my music files into MP3 Tag and discovered that over 90% of my m4a files had no values for Codec, Bitrate , Frequency, Artist, Album, etc; basically just had values for file name, path, size and date. The few that were intact do play via Silverjuke. It would seem that the locker virus did more harm than I thought. I have everything backed up in a couple of places so I should be ok. Sorry to be a bother. Thanks again for your help.
Cheers
