Feature suggestion : CD playing

I'm not sure everybody wants this, but for my personnal use of Silverjuke, it would be great if it could play CDs that would be inserted in the CD player.

I'd like Silverjuke to immediately play a CD when it's inserted, and if possible displaying the track names from FreeDB (well, if it could display the cover, it'd be even better ).

Well, I suppose this kind of feature is not really easy to add, so if it's not in your plans, don't worry about it.

Well, programming this wouldn't be that hard as we though first, however, there are not so many wishes in this direction, so this has no high priority for the moment.

Another aspect is, that when CDs can be played directly, the wish to rip them won't be far away - and to make this "good", would be much harder ... so our suggestion is to use another program for this purpose - eg. does a very good job.

That's what I expected.

In fact, I'd like to let people put their own CD to listen to it, without having to wait until it's ripped. It can be done with another program, yes, but I haven't found any software that only plays CD's (I want something very simple, very direct : put the CD and immediately listen to it) and that looks as good as Silverjuke

I too would like to be able to play CDs. Occasionally someone comes in and wants a track or two played. I do not and will never ask for SJ to become a ripping software. There's far more softwares out there that do the job. Thanks for keeping up the good work service team!
