Stop breaking up my albums

Postby chazman » 11. Sep 07, 01:16

How do I stop SJ from breaking up compilation albums? I tried the two kinda odd ball settings where you set them to say how few songs by one artist make an album... if I make it too high weird things happened, too low compilations that have 5-6 songs by one artist still break up. Can't there just be something like this?

X Never Break up albums.

Check the box and you're done... you don't need to do math and all... :-D

Thanks in advance.

As written somewhere else in this forum, it is very hard to identify 100% of all albums. Just because there is NO tag that gives any hints for this.

So you have two choices:

* Leave some albums broken

* Use the directory as the criterion for albums (use the option "An album must have at least {1} track with corresponding {directory}" at "My music library / Combine tracks to albums"

B.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I am confused that you need a tag to do this, at least a special one. If "Album=Whatever" then just keep all those tracks together. I have over 3,000 albums and I don't think any have the same title... but I guess my collection is small compared to many.

How do I execute your second option? All my tracks are in a folder by artist and then sub folders by album. Is what you suggest in the settings menu or something you type into a system file?

Thanks again. I've said it before, this software is great (aside from my petty complaining :-)

Hello Charlie,

I do not think it is that easy. The album Name is not always unique - assume sth. like "Best of", "Legend", "Greatest Hits" and so on ...

B.
