Hi,
When i try to update WMA tags with freedb, i get an error message at the end of the updating operation. As detailed in the error console :
"Writing Y:/Music/AlbumName/Filename.wma impossible"
However, in Silverjuke, the tags seems to have been updated but when i quit and ask for updating all the database, the tags come back to their initial values...
I tried with others wma album files in silverjuke, and it's the same. I have made a search in the forum and i didn't find any subject related to this issue...
I noticed that with an other tag editor connected to freedb, it is possible to update them definitively..
Would you help me ?
Thanks a lot !
Christian

Re: WMA tags not updated with freedb
I have found this to be the case when altering the details of WMA files within winamp aswell!
A little workaround for this In S.J. is to exlude the traks from from the 'Include folder to the Update Process'i.e.
Settings (Alt P)
Options
'Include folder to the Update Process' Check Box
And then update the details manualy within Silverjuke!
I Know this Is a Ball Ache but Windows media Player doesn't like other programs altering the details In WMA files! You can do It manualy within Explorer. Not to sure if this is an option within the WM Player Itself or if it is to do with the WMA format itself (Personaly wouldn't touch WMA with a barge pole)
If anyone else has any Idea please let us know!
I ended up deleting all my WMA files and replacing them with mp3s If you can!(so much easier than manual Input) do a search for a WMA to MP3 batch converter If you can. I found one for the rare albums I had digitised as WMA that I could not download as MP3s
